Pawan Kalyan welcomes CM’s positive response on Uddanam

Vijayawada, January 7: Leading Telugu actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has welcomed Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu’s positive response to address the high prevalence of kidney-related diseases in Uddanam region of Srikakulam district 

Pawan, who had visited the region on January 3 and set 48-hour deadline for the state government to respond on the issue, today welcomed slew of measures announced by Naidu to provide relief to the victims of ‘Uddanam Nephropathy’

“Relief measures announced by the government, in aid of these victims of destiny, is first positive step in the long journey of Uddanam Nephropathy,” the actor tweeted.

He said Chandrababu Naidu understood the gravity and seriousness of the victims’ pain and suffering than state minister Atchannaidu, who hails from Srikakulam district.

“It is the social responsibility of all the political parties of AP to address the issue of Uddanam Nephropathy till it is eradicated completely. It should feature in every party’s manifesto in future,” said Pawan.

“In this endevaour the members of civil society intellectuals doctors activists especially of Uttarandhra should keep mounting the same pressure as they did till now; not just on state and central government but also on rest of the political parties,” he added.

Pawan said Jana Sena will continue its best efforts not only for ‘Uddanam cause’ but also look into issues which are hindering the growth of ‘Kalinga Andhra’ or north Andhra region.

The chief minister yesterday promised to constitute an expert committee to investigate the root cause of kidney ailments in Uddanam. He also announced pensions to villagers suffering from these ailemts.

Naidu also promised to supply quality mineral water in all the affected villages. Panchayat raj commissioner will visit the affected areas on January 9.

The chief minister announced that two dialysis centres will be opened at Sompeta and Palasa. Three dialysis centres are already functioning at Srikakulam, Tekkali and Rajam.
